Padlet is basically an online bulletin board, of sorts, that allows users to collaborate, add virtual "sticky notes," share links and pictures, and more in a safe and secure way.
What makes Padlet such a valuable classroom tool is its privacy settings. Each board created, or wall (as Padlet terms it,) is given a unique URL that can be made public or kept as a hidden link. You can even set it up to be password protected or completely private to only those you add by email. Board creators/owners can moderate posts, delete posts, and manage their board at anytime from anywhere, with apps available for both iOS and Android devices. You can give others admin rights, allowing them to moderate the wall, too. You can personalize your wall with a variety of wallpaper backgrounds, such as a "to do list" chalkboard or a calendar. You can even create a custom URL to make remembering and finding it a little easier. Do you love the design of your board? Copy it and use it again! All finished with the board? Delete it, or you also have the options to share, print and export. Padlet is an incredibly easy, robust classroom tool that you will love! |
When using this or any other digital tool with students, be sure to check the Terms of Service to make sure your students meet the age requirements for using that tool.
