Socrative lets teachers engage and assess their students with educational activities on tablets, laptops and smartphones. Through the use of real time questioning, instant result aggregation and visualization, teachers can gauge the whole class’ current level of understanding.
Kahoot – A game-based classroom response system to createn and play quizzes, discussions or even surveys using any device with a web browser.
Formative – Create new assignments or upload & transform existing ones to create real-time formative assessments with this next-generation student response system.
Peergrade – A free online platform to facilitate peer assessment sessions with students
Lino – A virtual corkboard of sticky-notes so students can provide questions or comments on their learning. These can be used like exit tickets or during the course of a lesson.
Poll Everywhere – Teachers can create a feedback poll or ask questions. Students respond in various ways and teachers see the results in real-time. As Steven indicates, with open-ended questions you can capture data and spin up tag clouds to aggregate response. You should note that Poll Everywhere has a limit to the number of users. Mentimeter (which we’ve listed below) does not which makes it a little more functional.

Mentimeter – An easy-to-use tool that makes presentations, meetings, events and classrooms interactive by using mobile phones or tablets to vote on any question a teacher asks, increasing student engagement.
Padlet – Provides an essentially blank canvas for students to create and design collaborative projects. Great for brainstorming.
Kiddom – A LMS that allows you to create classes, add & grade assignments aligned with standards, and create reports to assess student growth and make informed decisions
Quizlet - Allows teachers to create online quizzes and flashcards on a range of content, which students can then use to help them study outside the classroom. Also offers a library of pre-existing quizzes to choose from.
Vocaroo – A free service that allows users to create audio recordings without the need for software. You can easily embed the recording into slide shows, presentations, or websites. Great for collaborative group work and presentations.
Booktrack Classroom - A new way for students to read stories and texts accompanied by a movie-style soundtrack. Students also create Booktracks, using their own writing or works being studied in school.
QR Code Treasure Hunt Generator - Get students using their mobile devices to move and to learn by inputting a series of questions and answers, creating QR codes for each, then displaying the codes around the classroom or school for students to find and answer the questions
